Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crumb topping ingredients—3 tablespoons sugar, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, 1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoons flour, and 5 tablespoons melted butter. Mix until it’s clumpy and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together 2 1/2 cups flour, 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt, and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
- In another bowl, mix 3/4 cups sugar, 2 large eggs, and 1/2 cup melted butter. Stir in 1 cup milk and 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla.
- Gently combine the wet and dry mixtures until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped apples.
- Scoop the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Sprinkle the crumb topping over the batter and lightly press it in.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the loaf cool completely in the pan.
- Whisk together the glaze ingredients—1 cup powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon milk, and 1 tablespoon maple syrup, then drizzle over the cooled loaf.
Notes
For a lighter version, consider replacing half the sugar with applesauce or using plant-based milk and coconut oil as substitutes.
