- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Heat the milk until lukewarm and mix with melted butter to create a creamy base.
- Combine the granulated sugar, salt, mashed banana, and instant yeast in a large mixing bowl.
- Gradually add the warm milk mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring as you go.
- Incorporate flour into the mixture until it forms a soft dough, and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a greased bowl, covered with a cloth, until it’s doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter on top, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Layer sliced bananas evenly across the filling.
- Roll tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces, placing them in a greased baking dish.
- Pour warmed heavy cream over the rolls to keep them moist while baking.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare the frosting by beating together cream cheese and butter, gradually adding in powdered sugar and vanilla.
- Frost warm rolls generously before serving.
