Description

Indulge in warm, gooey Banana Cinnamon Rolls drizzled with cream cheese frosting, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup lukewarm milk
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 1/25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup mashed banana
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (very soft)
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 large bananas (thinly sliced)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (slightly warmed)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk until lukewarm and mix with melted butter to create a creamy base.
  2. Combine the granulated sugar, salt, mashed banana, and instant yeast in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Gradually add the warm milk mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring as you go.
  4. Incorporate flour into the mixture until it forms a soft dough, and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl, covered with a cloth, until it’s doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter on top, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Layer sliced bananas evenly across the filling.
  8. Roll tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces, placing them in a greased baking dish.
  9. Pour warmed heavy cream over the rolls to keep them moist while baking.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-35 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Prepare the frosting by beating together cream cheese and butter, gradually adding in powdered sugar and vanilla.
  12. Frost warm rolls generously before serving.

Notes

Feel free to customize with nuts or chocolate chips for extra indulgence.
