- 1 lb. refrigerated pizza dough
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 3/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1/4 medium red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/3 cup shredded gouda
- Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 Tbsp. freshly chopped cilantro
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 500°F.
- Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper and lightly grease with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, mix shredded chicken with 1/4 cup of barbecue sauce.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a large circle.
- Transfer the dough to the baking sheet, spread 1/4 cup barbecue sauce, and layer half the chicken mixture.
- Top with mozzarella cheese, red onion, and gouda, adding crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the cheese bubbles and the crust is golden brown.
- Sprinkle fresh cilantro on top before serving.
Notes
For a lighter option, use low-sugar sauce or dairy-free cheese. Whole wheat crust can be a healthier alternative.
