- 1 lb (450g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup carrots, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup snow peas or snap peas
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium if preferred)
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce or brown sugar
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lime juice
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix together all the sauce ingredients until smooth.
- Add the sliced beef to the bowl and let it marinate for 10–15 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Toss in the broccoli, carrots, and bell pepper. Stir fry for 3–4 minutes.
- Add the snow peas and cook for another 1–2 minutes, then set the vegetables aside.
- Pour the remaining tablespoon of oil into the pan. Add the marinated beef and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned.
- Add the garlic, ginger, and green onions to the beef. Stir fry for 30 seconds.
- Return the vegetables to the pan and pour in the reserved marinade. Toss everything together.
- Cook for another 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Serve hot over steamed rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice.
Notes
Consider marinating the beef longer for deeper flavor. Customize vegetables based on preference.
