Description

A sensational seafood delight featuring perfectly sautéed shrimp with a melange of Cajun spices and sweet hot honey.


Ingredients

  • lbs raw jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1½ tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 tbsp salted butter
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme (or 2 tsp dried)
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp salted butter
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Kosher salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry to ensure they are crispy.
  2. Toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet.
  4. Sear shrimp for 2 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
  5. Add butter, garlic, thyme, and lemon zest; cook for 1–2 minutes until garlic is golden.
  6. Stir in lemon juice.
  7. In a small pan, melt honey, 2 tbsp butter, cayenne, chili powder, paprika, and salt over low heat to make a glaze.
  8. Drizzle hot honey over shrimp and serve with a sprinkle of flaky salt.

Notes

Avoid overbaking the shrimp to prevent them from becoming rubbery. Keep mise en place organized for ease of cooking.
