Description

A delightful fusion of creamy cheesecake and moist banana bread, perfect for dessert or snack time.


Ingredients

  • 16 oz full fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 6 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large or 3 small bananas, mashed (about 1 1/4 cups)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 – 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup miniature chocolate chips
  • 3 oz full fat cream cheese, softened
  • 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 12 Tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper.
  2. Grease the bottom and sides, then wrap the springform pan in two layers of aluminum foil.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the cheesecake filling ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients for the banana bread layer.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Pour half the banana bread batter into the prepared pan, then spread half the cheesecake filling over it. Repeat this layering process.
  7. Place the springform pan in a larger roasting pan filled with hot water and bake for approximately 90 minutes.
  8. Allow to cool completely before serving.

Notes

Allow flavors to meld after cooling for the best taste.
