Description
An indulgent cheesesteak-stuffed garlic bread loaf filled with tender beef, sautéed bell peppers, and gooey provolone cheese, all inside a crusty Italian loaf.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 Italian Bread Loaf
- 1 lb Thinly Sliced Beef (ribeye or sirloin)
- 1 cup Bell Peppers (mixed red, yellow, and green)
- 1 cup Onions
- 2 cups Provolone Cheese (shredded)
- 1/2 cup Garlic Butter
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Fresh Parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Slice the Italian loaf lengthwise without cutting all the way through to create a pocket.
- Hollow out some of the soft bread inside to make space for the filling.
- Melt the garlic butter in a skillet over medium heat until it sizzles.
- Add onions and bell peppers, cooking for about 7 minutes until softened.
- Introduce the beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until browned.
- Place the hollowed bread on a baking sheet and spoon the beef mixture into the cavity.
- Top generously with shredded provolone cheese.
- Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let it rest for 3 to 5 minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute beef with mushrooms or tofu. Store leftovers in the freezer for up to 2-3 months.
