Description

A delicious baked delight filled with mozzarella, pepperoni, and Italian seasoning, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pizza dough
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni, sliced
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a rectangle measuring about 12×14 inches.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  4. Layer the pepperoni slices generously over the cheese.
  5. Evenly distribute the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning over the pepperoni.
  6. Starting from one long side, roll the dough tightly towards the other end, tucking the edges in as you go.
  7. Place the rolled stromboli seam-side down on a greased baking sheet.
  8. Brush the top of the stromboli with the beaten egg for a beautiful, glossy finish.
  9. Cut small slits on the top surface of the dough to allow steam to escape during baking.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the stromboli turns a lovely golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve it warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

For an extra crispy bottom, bake on a pizza stone. Optional extras include sautéed bell peppers, mushrooms, or olives.
