Description
A delicious baked delight filled with mozzarella, pepperoni, and Italian seasoning, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pizza dough
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup pepperoni, sliced
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a rectangle measuring about 12×14 inches.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
- Layer the pepperoni slices generously over the cheese.
- Evenly distribute the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning over the pepperoni.
- Starting from one long side, roll the dough tightly towards the other end, tucking the edges in as you go.
- Place the rolled stromboli seam-side down on a greased baking sheet.
- Brush the top of the stromboli with the beaten egg for a beautiful, glossy finish.
- Cut small slits on the top surface of the dough to allow steam to escape during baking.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the stromboli turns a lovely golden brown.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve it warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
For an extra crispy bottom, bake on a pizza stone. Optional extras include sautéed bell peppers, mushrooms, or olives.
