- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk plus 1 tablespoon vinegar)

- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- For Topping:
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, vegetable oil, and granulated sugar, whisk until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the buttermilk and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
- Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined with a few lumps remaining.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- While warm, brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
- Let it cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a twist, add chocolate chips or substitute with whole wheat flour for a denser texture.
