Description

A delightful, moist bread bursting with warm cinnamon flavor, perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk plus 1 tablespoon vinegar)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • For Topping:
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, vegetable oil, and granulated sugar, whisk until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the buttermilk and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  5. Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined with a few lumps remaining.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  9. While warm, brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  10. Let it cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a twist, add chocolate chips or substitute with whole wheat flour for a denser texture.
