Description

A warm and fragrant Cinnamon Sugar Loaf with a golden-brown crust and a tender, moist interior, perfect for sharing or indulging.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar, divided
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9×5 inch loaf pans.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and 1 cup of sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  3. Stir in buttermilk, then add flour and baking soda, mixing just until combined.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the remaining cup of sugar with ground cinnamon.
  5. Pour a quarter of the batter into each loaf pan and sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter.
  6. Pour the remaining batter atop the cinnamon sugar layer, and finish with the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.
  7. Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon sugar into the batter.
  8. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool for 20 minutes in the pans before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
