Description

A comforting homemade bread infused with cinnamon sugar and twisted for a delightful swirl, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg white

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water with a pinch of sugar and sprinkle the active dry yeast on top. Let it sit until foamy.
  2. Heat whole milk gently and mix with slightly cooled melted unsalted butter.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour, sugar, and salt. Create a well and pour in the warm milk mixture along with foamy yeast. Stir until you get a shaggy dough.
  4. Turn the shaggy mass onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes.
  5. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough gently and roll it out into an 8×20 inch rectangle.
  7. Brush the rolled-out dough with egg white and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture, leaving a border.
  8. Roll the dough tightly, pinching the seams to seal.
  9. Place the rolled dough seam-side down in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let rise again until puffed.
  10. Preheat the oven and bake until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 195-200°F.

Notes

Keep an eye on your loaf while baking to prevent overbaking. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days, or freeze individual slices.
