Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 3 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Frost with your favorite icing or serve plain.
