- 2 1/4 cups heat-treated all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips
- Pinch of salt
- Chocolate ganache or frosting (optional)
- More mini chocolate chips (optional)
- Whipped cream or ice cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two round cake pans with parchment paper and grease.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; then mix into the wet ingredients. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Divide batter in prepared pans and bake for 22–25 minutes. Let cool.
- Heat-treat flour for cookie dough by spreading it on a baking sheet and baking for 5 minutes. Let cool.
- Beat together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy. Mix in milk and vanilla.
- Gradually add heat-treated flour and pinch of salt, then fold in mini chocolate chips. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
- Assemble by layering one brownie, spreading cookie dough, then topping with the second brownie layer.
- Top with chocolate ganache or frosting, chill for at least an hour before serving.
