Description

Succulent crab cakes with a crispy exterior that are easy to prepare and perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh crab meat
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, chopped green onions, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Take small portions of the mixture and form them into patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. In a large skillet, heat a layer of oil over medium heat until it glimmers.
  4. Carefully add the crab cakes to the skillet and fry them for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as zesty remoulade or tangy tartar sauce.

Notes

For a spicy version, consider adding diced jalapeños or hot sauce to the mixture. Refrigerate mixture for 30 minutes before shaping for better patty formation.
