Description

A delightful dessert that captures festive flavors with layers of cranberries and fresh oranges intertwined with sweet, creamy layers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package ladyfingers (24 pieces)
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce
  • Zest of 2 oranges
  • 2 cups whipped cream (sweetened)
  • 1 box vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz)
  • 2 cups whole milk or almond milk
  • 2 fresh oranges (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and milk in a mixing bowl until smooth. Refrigerate for 5 to 10 minutes to thicken.
  2. Whip the heavy cream in another bowl until soft peaks form, then gradually add sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  3. Fold the whipped cream into the chilled pudding mixture.
  4. Assemble the trifle by layering ladyfingers at the bottom of a trifle dish, followed by cranberry sauce, half of the pudding mixture, and orange zest.
  5. Add a second layer of ladyfingers, more cranberry sauce, and the remaining pudding mixture.
  6. Top with whipped cream and fresh orange slices.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.

Notes

Consider adding raspberry or strawberry sauce, chocolate shavings, or crushed nuts for added flavor. Adjust sweetness of layers according to preference.
