Description

A delightful explosion of flavor featuring a crunchy exterior and creamy crab filling, perfect for gatherings and casual movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 6 oz crab meat, drained and flaked
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 package of wonton wrappers (around 48 wrappers)
  • 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Sweet and sour sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Lay out the wonton wrappers and cover unused ones with a damp cloth.
  3. Place about 1 teaspoon of the crab mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  4. Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper.
  5. Fold the wrapper over the filling into a triangle shape and seal the edges.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or frying pan over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Carefully add a few filled wontons to the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  8. Remove fried wontons and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  9. Repeat the frying process until all wontons are cooked.
  10. Serve warm with sweet and sour sauce for dipping.

Notes

Use softened cream cheese for a smoother filling. Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to avoid excess oil absorption.
