Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 6 oz crab meat, drained and flaked
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 package of wonton wrappers (around 48 wrappers)
- 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
- Sweet and sour sauce (for dipping)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Lay out the wonton wrappers and cover unused ones with a damp cloth.
- Place about 1 teaspoon of the crab mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.
- Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper.
- Fold the wrapper over the filling into a triangle shape and seal the edges.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or frying pan over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully add a few filled wontons to the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove fried wontons and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Repeat the frying process until all wontons are cooked.
- Serve warm with sweet and sour sauce for dipping.
Notes
Use softened cream cheese for a smoother filling. Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to avoid excess oil absorption.
