- 12 oz mozzarella cheese sticks
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Cut mozzarella cheese sticks in half if desired.
- Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each cheese stick in flour, then in egg, and finally in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing firmly to adhere.
- Place the breaded sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the cheese sticks until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
For extra crunch, consider double breading. Maintain oil temperature while frying for best results.
