Description

These crispy homemade mozzarella sticks are the ultimate comfort food, perfect for snacking or serving as an appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut mozzarella cheese sticks in half if desired.
  2. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each cheese stick in flour, then in egg, and finally in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing firmly to adhere.
  4. Place the breaded sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the cheese sticks until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider double breading. Maintain oil temperature while frying for best results.
