Description

Ingredients

  • 8 string cheese sticks (mozzarella)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Optional dipping sauces: marinara, ranch, or spicy aioli

Instructions

  1. Cut each mozzarella stick in half.
  2. Set up a breading station: place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in a second bowl, and seasoned breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning in a third bowl.
  3. Coat each cheese piece: dip in flour, then egg wash, and roll in breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Freeze the breaded sticks for at least 30 minutes on a parchment-lined tray.
  5. Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry mozzarella sticks for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.

Notes

For a healthier alternative, consider baking the mozzarella sticks at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes.
