Description

Tender sirloin steak bites cooked slowly with garlic and butter in a rich gravy, perfect for family dinners and weeknight meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup unsalted beef stock
  • 1 ounce packet au jus gravy mix
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Season the steak by generously seasoning the bite-sized sirloin pieces with salt and pepper in a large bowl.
  2. In a heated skillet with vegetable oil, sear the steak in batches until golden brown, but not fully cooked through.
  3. Transfer the seared steak into your 6-quart slow cooker along with the thinly sliced onion and garlic.
  4. Pour in your beef stock, sprinkle the au jus mix over the top, and add the slices of butter.
  5. Set your slow cooker to high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice to soak up the gravy.

Notes

Consider using a lean cut of steak or a dairy-free butter alternative for healthier options.
