Create a delightful DIY Caramel Apple Kit that brings the joy of autumn and Halloween right into your kitchen, perfect for the whole family.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 crisp apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 wooden stick
- 8–10 soft caramels
- 2 tablespoons chopped pecans
- 2 tablespoons milk or cream
- 1 small jar for packaging
- String for decoration
Instructions
- Chop the pecans into small pieces.
- Rinse and dry the apple thoroughly, removing any wax or residue. Insert the wooden stick into the center of the apple.
- Line a plate with parchment or wax paper and spray lightly with nonstick spray.
- Melt the caramels with 1–2 tablespoons of milk in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth. Let cool for 2 minutes.
- Dip the apple into the caramel, allowing the excess to drip off.
- Refrigerate the apple for 15 minutes until the caramel firms up.
- Roll the caramel-coated apple in the chopped pecans.
- Pack the caramel in a jar, taping the stick to the back for presentation, and tie with string.
Notes
Ensure the apple is completely dry before dipping for better caramel adherence. Consider using dairy-free milk alternatives or low-sugar caramels for a healthier option.
