Delight in these spooky, green Rice Krispie treats perfect for Halloween, combining chewy marshmallows, crispy cereal, and playful candy eyes.

- 10 ounces large marshmallows (mini marshmallows also work)
- 8 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ cup marshmallow fluff
- 5–8 drops green food coloring
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 18 large candy eyes
- 9 small Tootsie Rolls
- ½ cup black or brown icing
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until it begins to bubble.
- Add in the marshmallows and marshmallow fluff, stirring continuously until smooth.
- Add 5–8 drops of green food coloring and stir until well mixed.
- Combine the marshmallow mixture with Rice Krispies in a large bowl, ensuring even coating.
- Press the mixture into a greased 9×13 dish and refrigerate for about 15 minutes.
- Cut into 3×4-inch squares.
- Melt dark chocolate chips with vegetable oil in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds.
- Dip the top of each treat into melted chocolate to create Frankenstein’s hair and let set.
- Use icing to attach candy eyes and create mouths on each treat.
- Cut Tootsie Rolls in half and stick them to the sides of each treat as bolts.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
These treats are best enjoyed fresh within a week when stored in an airtight container. For a healthier version, substitute low-sugar marshmallows and dairy-free butter.
