Description

A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese, featuring creamy cheeses nestled between slices of garlic-infused toasted bread.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices thick-cut bread (sourdough or Italian)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (or 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare garlic butter by mixing softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a small bowl.
  2. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  3. Spread garlic butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet and layer with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  5. Top with the second slice of bread, butter side up, and press down gently.
  6. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
  7. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from skillet and let rest for a minute before slicing. Serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding fillers like spinach or roasted peppers. Pair with marinara sauce for dipping.
