- 4 slices thick-cut bread (sourdough or Italian)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley (or 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare garlic butter by mixing softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a small bowl.
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Spread garlic butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet and layer with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- Top with the second slice of bread, butter side up, and press down gently.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
- Carefully flip the sandwich and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet and let rest for a minute before slicing. Serve hot.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding fillers like spinach or roasted peppers. Pair with marinara sauce for dipping.
