- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- For the Frosting: 8 ounces cream cheese
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- Extras: Chocolate chips or raisins for spooky ghost eyes
Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar in a bowl.
- Cream the softened butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla, and almond extracts.
- Gradually add the flour mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Divide the dough, wrap it, and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick and use ghost-shaped cookie cutters to make shapes.
- Bake at 375°F for 7 minutes, until the edges start to color.
- Allow to cool, then frost with cream cheese icing and add chocolate chips or raisins for eyes.
