Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the molasses and vanilla.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
- Once baked, let the cake cool completely in the pan.
- For the frosting, beat together the cream cheese, butter, and molasses until smooth.
- Spread the frosting over the cooled cake and cut into squares to serve.
