Description

Fluffy and vibrant pumpkin pancakes perfect for a festive Halloween breakfast that will bring joy and nostalgia to your table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Gold Medal unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup water
  • Black food coloring
  • 2 cups Original Bisquick mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Red and yellow (or orange) food coloring
  • Chocolate chips for decorating
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Fruit slices and candy eyes for festive touches

Instructions

  1. Heat all syrup ingredients in a saucepan, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and turns into a deep, luscious black. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. In a large bowl, mix all pancake ingredients until you achieve a smooth, velvety texture and a delightful orange color.
  3. Preheat a greased griddle over medium heat, allowing it to warm perfectly for that golden crust.
  4. Spoon the pumpkin pancake batter onto the griddle, shaping it into cute little pumpkin forms.
  5. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, allowing them to rise to golden perfection while keeping that fluffy interior.
  6. Transfer to plates, and drizzle the warm syrup generously over each pancake, letting it ooze and soak in.
  7. Decorate with chocolate chips or playful candy eyes for a Halloween twist.

Notes

These pancakes are best served fresh but can be prepped ahead of time. Consider using whole wheat flour or sugar substitutes as healthier alternatives.
