- 1 pack (12 ounces) of wonton wrappers
- 8 ounces of feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cup of ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup of cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 small bunch of fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Mix the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the crumbled feta cheese, ricotta cheese, and softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Add in the Flavor: Mix honey, red pepper flakes, olive oil, garlic powder, parsley, salt, and pepper into the cheese mixture until well combined.
- Prepare the Wontons: Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface, spoon about 1 tablespoon of filling into the center.
- Seal the Wontons: Moisten the edges with water, fold in half to form a triangle, and press to seal tightly.
- Crimp for Decor: Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.
- Heat the Oil: In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil to about 350°F (175°C).
- Fry to Perfection: Add wontons in batches and fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Drain and Serve: Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and optionally drizzle with honey and sprinkle with parsley before serving.
Notes
For a lighter option, bake the wontons at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes instead of frying.
