Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • Red food coloring
  • Crushed candy canes for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.

  6. Roll both doughs into small balls and twist them together.
