A delightful homemade treat blending cool mint flavor with rich chocolate.
Ingredients

- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream and whole milk, stirring until steaming but not boiling.
- Remove from heat, add fresh mint leaves, cover, and steep for 30 minutes.
- Strain out the mint leaves, return the mixture to low heat, add sugar and vanilla, stirring until dissolved.
- Let the mixture cool at room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer’s instructions until soft-serve consistency.
- Transfer to an airtight container and freeze for about 4 hours or until firm.
Notes
For enhanced mint flavor, consider adding peppermint extract after cooling. Optional mix-ins include crushed Oreos or a sprinkle of sea salt.
