- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup Nutella
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
- Beat in the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a dough forms.
- Chill the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
- Scoop a tablespoon of dough, flatten it, and add a dollop of Nutella in the center.
- Wrap the dough around Nutella, roll into a ball, and place on a baking sheet.
- Top each cookie ball with chocolate chips.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set.
- Cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For added crunch, consider adding chopped nuts. Do not overbake for a gooey center.
