Description

A delicious twist on traditional burgers, featuring crispy cabbage ‘buns’ and savory meat patties that are baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small head Cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 pound Ground Beef, Turkey, Chicken, or Plant-Based Options
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 large Egg (optional)
  • 1 cup Cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the cabbage into thick ½ inch slices and generously brush both sides with olive oil.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine your selected protein with chopped onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Mix well and introduce the egg for binding, if desired.
  5. Form the meat mixture into patties, molding them to match the size of the cabbage slices.
  6. Position the patties on the cabbage slices.
  7. Bake the burgers in your preheated oven for approximately 25 minutes.
  8. Optional: Sprinkle your choice of cheese atop the patties and broil for an additional 3 to 5 minutes until melted and bubbly.
  9. Serve and enjoy garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

Ensure even cooking by monitoring the baking time and using a fresh head of cabbage.
