Description

Delightful crispy phyllo pastry filled with rich feta cheese and aromatic herbs, drizzled with chili-infused honey.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 sheets phyllo pastry
  • 200 g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine feta, dill, mint, lemon zest, and black pepper.
  3. Lay out one phyllo sheet and brush with olive oil, then place another sheet on top and brush again.
  4. Cut the layered phyllo sheets into 4 equal strips lengthwise.
  5. Spoon about one tablespoon of the feta mixture onto the end of each strip.
  6. Fold the sides over the filling and roll into a cylinder, sealing the filling inside.
  7. Place rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush the tops with olive oil and repeat with remaining phyllo and filling.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  10. For chili honey, combine honey, chili flakes, and lemon juice in a saucepan over low heat.
  11. Once baked, drizzle warm chili honey over the rolls before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add garlic powder to the feta mixture or brush with a paprika-olive oil mix before baking.
