Description

Panna Cotta is a silky-smooth, creamy Italian dessert that is easy to prepare yet elegant, perfect for impressing family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) unflavored gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • Fresh berries or fruit sauce for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Heat over medium until the sugar dissolves without boiling.
  2. Remove from heat and mix in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  4. Add bloomed gelatin to the warm cream mixture, stirring until fully dissolved.
  5. Pour the mixture into molds or glasses, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours until set.
  6. To serve, run a knife around the mold edges to release the Panna Cotta and invert onto a plate, or serve directly in glasses. Top with fresh berries or fruit sauce.

Notes

Ensure the gelatin is properly bloomed and consider infusing flavors like lemon zest or coffee for a twist.
