- 3 ripe peaches, sliced
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, divided
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round baking pan with butter.
- Arrange the sliced peaches, cut side down, in the pan.
- Melt 1/4 cup of butter with 1/2 cup of sugar in a saucepan over medium heat; pour over peaches.
- Cream remaining butter and sugar together until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition; stir in vanilla extract.
- Whisk together flour and baking powder in another bowl.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour batter over peach layer and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
