Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan with grease and parchment paper.
  2. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well, and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, then gradually mix into the creamed mixture.
  5. Spread the batter evenly in the baking pan.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, testing doneness with a toothpick.
  7. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
  8. In a bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and pink food coloring for frosting.
