Description

Soft, pillowy dough filled with a creamy cheesecake mixture infused with fresh raspberries and delicate rose water, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed to about 110°F
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup raspberry preserves
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
  • Fresh raspberries for garnish (optional)
  • Edible rose petals for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and yeast mixture. Combine until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the cheesecake filling by mixing the cream cheese, powdered sugar, raspberry preserves, and rose water until smooth.
  6. Once the dough has risen, roll it out to a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.
  8. Roll the dough tightly from one long side and pinch the seam to seal.
  9. Slice into 12 equal pieces and arrange in a greased baking dish, leaving space for rising.
  10. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  12. Brush the tops with beaten egg and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  13. Cool slightly before serving, garnishing with fresh raspberries and edible rose petals if desired.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different flavors of preserves or try a dusting of powdered sugar for presentation.
