Description

Delightful Rose Dumplings combine the richness of milk with fragrant cardamom for a melt-in-your-mouth experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup full-fat milk powder
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 23 tbsp water
  • Oil or ghee for frying
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water (for syrup)
  • 4 crushed cardamom pods
  • Saffron strands (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the milk powder, all-purpose flour, and baking soda. Gradually add 2-3 tablespoons of water while kneading until a smooth dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough into small balls, ensuring they are smooth and free of cracks.
  3. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of water with the crushed cardamom. Bring to a gentle boil and stir until the syrup thickens.
  4. Heat oil or ghee in a frying pan over medium-low heat and fry the dough balls until golden brown, about 8 minutes.
  5. Transfer the fried dumplings to the warm syrup and let soak for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For an extra touch of luxury, soak saffron in warm water before adding it to the syrup.
