Description

A whimsical and festive Spinach Dip Pull-Apart Christmas Tree that combines rich, creamy flavors with a show-stopping presentation, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh spinach
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 packages of store-bought refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits per package)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the cleaned and chopped spinach for about 3-4 minutes until wilted. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
  4. Add the cooked spinach to the cream cheese mixture and mix thoroughly.
  5. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese until evenly distributed.
  6. Open the packages of biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Flatten each biscuit slightly with your hands.
  7. Use a tablespoon to scoop some of the spinach dip mixture onto the center of each flattened biscuit and fold the sides over to encase the filling into a ball.
  8. On a parchment-lined baking sheet, arrange the biscuit balls in a Christmas tree shape.
  9. Brush the tops of the biscuit dough with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if desired.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  11. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream and mayonnaise. You can also use low-fat cream cheese or add extra veggies for added nutrition.
