- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup of custard (prepared)
- Whipped cream for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually mix in the flour until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- Layer the sliced strawberries over the batter followed by pouring the custard on top.
- Pour the remaining batter over the custard and strawberry layer, spreading it carefully.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool before serving, and top with whipped cream if desired.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for better emulsion. Fresh strawberries enhance flavor; feel free to mix other berries. You can use different custard flavors and sprinkle powdered sugar before serving.
