Description

A luscious cake filled with layers of strawberries and creamy custard, perfect for gatherings and celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup of custard (prepared)
  • Whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Layer the sliced strawberries over the batter followed by pouring the custard on top.
  8. Pour the remaining batter over the custard and strawberry layer, spreading it carefully.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Cool before serving, and top with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better emulsion. Fresh strawberries enhance flavor; feel free to mix other berries. You can use different custard flavors and sprinkle powdered sugar before serving.
