Description

A thrilling fusion of flavors delivering a delightful crunch and savory punch, these rolls feature aromatic Thai basil and rich ground beef wrapped in delicate rice paper.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Rice paper wrappers
  • Lettuce leaves (for serving)
  • Sliced cucumbers (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté until fragrant and golden, about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and fold in the fresh Thai basil until wilted.
  6. Soak the rice paper wrappers in warm water for about 10–15 seconds until soft and pliable.
  7. Lay the softened rice paper on a clean surface and spoon a generous portion of the beef mixture onto the center. Fold in the sides and roll tightly into a cylinder.
  8. Serve the rolls alongside fresh lettuce leaves and sliced cucumbers.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Don’t soak rice paper for too long to prevent mushiness. You can customize by adding other vegetables.
