Description

Fudgy brownies blended with leftover Halloween treats for a delicious and nostalgic dessert.


Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 tablespoon oil (canola, vegetable, or melted coconut oil)
  • 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (dark preferred)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (plus extra pinch for topping)
  • 2 teaspoons espresso powder (optional)
  • 1 ½ cups leftover Halloween candy, roughly chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, oil, and granulated sugar for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder (if using), and salt.
  5. Fold the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients until just incorporated.
  6. Gently fold in 1 cup of chopped Halloween candy and spread into the prepared baking pan.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining candy on top of the batter.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes until the center is set but still soft. Allow to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For a lighter version, use sugar substitutes or dairy-free alternatives for the butter. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
