Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces white chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- Cocoa powder or crushed nuts for coating
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream and unsalted butter. Heat over medium heat, stirring gently until the mixture begins to simmer. Be careful not to let it boil.
- Remove the saucepan from heat. Add the chopped white chocolate to the warm cream mixture. Stir continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Stir in the aromatic zest of the orange and the fresh orange juice. Mix until well integrated.
- Cover the saucepan with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 120 minutes, or until the mixture is firm enough to scoop.
- Once firm, use a melon baller or a teaspoon to scoop out small portions. Roll each portion into a smooth ball using your hands.
- Roll each ball in cocoa powder or crushed nuts until well coated.
- Place the coated truffles in an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
For a more intense orange flavor, consider adding an extra tablespoon of orange juice or incorporating a few drops of orange extract.
