Description
Crispy and flavorful baked zucchini fries, a healthier alternative to traditional fries.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium zucchinis
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko or regular)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Optional: Marinara sauce, Ranch dressing, Garlic aioli
Instructions
- Wash the zucchinis and pat them dry before cutting them into 1/2 inch thick strips.
- Place the zucchini strips in a colander, sprinkle with salt, and let them sit for 10 minutes to draw out excess moisture. Pat them dry with a paper towel afterward.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk to create the egg wash.
- In another bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper.
- Dip each zucchini strip into the egg wash, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture.
- For the oven method, preheat to 425°F (220°C), arrange fries on a baking sheet, and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- For the air fryer method, preheat to 400°F (200°C) and air fry for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- For the pan-fried method, heat 1/4 cup oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry the zucchini fries in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces and garnish with extra grated Parmesan.
Notes
Avoid overbaking to keep the fries crisp. Pat zucchini dry before coating to ensure the best texture.
