Description

A delightful twist on the classic Rice Krispie treat, featuring creamy peanut butter and optional chocolate for an indulgent snack.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 10-ounce bag mini marshmallows
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat, stirring gently.
  3. Add in the mini marshmallows and stir constantly until melted and smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the creamy peanut butter until fully incorporated.
  5. Gently fold in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
  6. Press the mixture into the prepared pan using a greased spatula.
  7. Let cool completely at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours or refrigerate for 30 to 45 minutes.
  8. If desired, melt the chocolate chips and spread over the cooled treats.
  9. Chill again until the chocolate sets, about 20-30 minutes.
  10. Use the parchment paper to lift out the treats and cut into squares or rectangles.

Notes

For additional flavor, add a pinch of salt to the mixture. You can also mix in chopped nuts or dried fruit for extra texture.
