A delightful twist on the classic Rice Krispie treat, featuring creamy peanut butter and optional chocolate for an indulgent snack.

- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 10-ounce bag mini marshmallows
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat, stirring gently.
- Add in the mini marshmallows and stir constantly until melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the creamy peanut butter until fully incorporated.
- Gently fold in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
- Press the mixture into the prepared pan using a greased spatula.
- Let cool completely at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours or refrigerate for 30 to 45 minutes.
- If desired, melt the chocolate chips and spread over the cooled treats.
- Chill again until the chocolate sets, about 20-30 minutes.
- Use the parchment paper to lift out the treats and cut into squares or rectangles.
Notes
For additional flavor, add a pinch of salt to the mixture. You can also mix in chopped nuts or dried fruit for extra texture.
