Description
A delightful homemade version of the classic candy bar, featuring rich nougat, gooey caramel, and a smooth chocolate coating.
Ingredients

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramels, unwrapped
- 2 tbsp milk
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, and evaporated milk. Place over medium heat and stir constantly.
- Continue stirring until the mixture comes to a boil, then cook for about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add vanilla extract, mini marshmallows, and milk chocolate chips. Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Pour the nougat mixture into a greased 8×8 inch pan, spreading it evenly. Allow to chill for 30 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, combine caramels and milk; heat over low until melted and smooth.
- Pour the caramel over the set nougat and spread it evenly. Chill again for 30 minutes.
- Once set, cut the nougat and caramel into bars.
- Melt the remaining milk chocolate chips and dip each bar, allowing excess to drip off.
- Place dipped bars on a parchment-lined tray and allow to set until chocolate hardens.
Notes
For best results, allow the nougat to cook fully before removing from heat. Try using flavored extracts for a unique twist.
