Description

- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2/3 cup milk, slightly warmed
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 4 apples (about 2 lbs), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and line a 9×5″ loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, warmed milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Sift in the flour, powdered sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt, mixing until smooth.
- Prepare the apples by peeling, coring, and slicing them very thinly.
- Transfer the apple mixture into the prepared loaf pan, pressing down gently.
- Pour any remaining batter over the apples and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool for an additional 15 minutes.
Notes
Can be served a la mode or enjoyed as a snack. Feel free to substitute apples with pears or plums.
