Ingredients

  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 4 cups Powdered sugar
  • 0.25 cup Brewed coffee (for frosting)
  • 0.5 cup Caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 1 pinch Salt (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with brewed coffee and vanilla extract.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. For the frosting, beat the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and mix until fluffy.
  9. Add brewed coffee, caramel sauce, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt to the frosting, beating until smooth.
  10. Once cool, frost the first cake layer with buttercream, add the second layer, and frost the top and sides.
  11. Drizzle additional caramel sauce on top.
