- 1 pinch Salt (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with brewed coffee and vanilla extract.
- Divide the batter evenly between prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and mix until fluffy.
- Add brewed coffee, caramel sauce, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt to the frosting, beating until smooth.
- Once cool, frost the first cake layer with buttercream, add the second layer, and frost the top and sides.
- Drizzle additional caramel sauce on top.
