Description

A warm and comforting dessert combining fluffy pumpkin and crunchy pecans – perfect for fall gatherings or cozy family nights.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (topping)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (topping)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (topping)
  • 1 1/2 cups very hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter or vegetable oil, and vanilla until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a thick batter forms.
  5. Spread the batter into an 8-inch casserole dish.
  6. In another bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, and chopped pecans for the topping.
  7. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the batter.
  8. Pour the hot water evenly over the top—do not stir.
  9. Bake for 40 minutes or until the middle is set.
  10. Cool for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with extra pecans and a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate experience.
