Description

Delightful pumpkin rolls that are easy to make and perfect for sharing during the Halloween season.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1½ cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 10 g (2 tsp) yeast
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 tbsp softened butter
  • ¾ cup melted butter
  • 3 tbsp sage, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast; let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour and salt; mix on low speed until dough comes together.
  3. Incorporate softened butter and pumpkin puree; knead for 5 minutes until soft and elastic.
  4. Cover and let dough rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Divide into 10 equal pieces and shape into balls.
  6. Place dough balls in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F.
  8. Cover and proof rolls for another hour.
  9. Melt remaining butter with sage and mix.
  10. Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Brush tops with melted butter, cool for 20 minutes, then serve warm.

Notes

These rolls can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
