Delightful pumpkin rolls that are easy to make and perfect for sharing during the Halloween season.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1½ cups warm water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 10 g (2 tsp) yeast
- 5 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 tbsp softened butter
- ¾ cup melted butter
- 3 tbsp sage, finely chopped
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast; let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour and salt; mix on low speed until dough comes together.
- Incorporate softened butter and pumpkin puree; knead for 5 minutes until soft and elastic.
- Cover and let dough rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Divide into 10 equal pieces and shape into balls.
- Place dough balls in a greased loaf pan.
- Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F.
- Cover and proof rolls for another hour.
- Melt remaining butter with sage and mix.
- Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush tops with melted butter, cool for 20 minutes, then serve warm.
Notes
These rolls can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
