Description

A delightful Chinese street food featuring juicy strawberries coated in a sweet, glossy caramel that evokes childhood memories.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 strawberries, rinsed and dried
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup water

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut the stems off the strawberries, rinsing them under cold water.
  2. Dry them thoroughly to ensure moisture does not affect the syrup coating.
  3. Skewer the strawberries onto wooden skewers for easy dipping.
  4. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring until dissolved.
  5. Heat the mixture until it reaches the hard-crack stage (300ºF–310ºF).
  6. Dip strawberries quickly into the syrup to coat, allowing excess to drip off.
  7. Place coated skewers on parchment paper to harden, watching the syrup crystallize.

Notes

Avoid excess moisture on strawberries to ensure syrup adheres well. Serve fresh for the best experience.
